Questions & answers

Answers, no runaround.

Straight answers on booking, no-shows, fees, and running your shop — from the team behind Slott.

Switching & what you keep

What changes for your clients when you switch to Slott — and what stays yours.

Do my clients need to download an app to book with me?+

No — and that's deliberate. Some booking platforms make your clients create an account or download the platform's app to book you, which puts your clients inside their ecosystem. With Slott, clients text or call your number like always, or use your booking page in any browser. No app, no account, no middleman between you and your client.

Who owns my client list?+

You do. Your clients' numbers, history, and relationship stay yours. Slott is built for your existing clients and your missed calls — it doesn't put your clients into a marketplace where they can be shown your competitors.

What makes Slott different from Booksy, Vagaro, or Fresha?+

Three things: Slott answers your phone — voice AI and AI texting that book the client and pop the appointment straight into your calendar; your clients never need an app or account; and Slott never takes a cut — no per-booking fees, no payment processing percentage, no marketplace commission. You pay one flat price from $19/mo.

Is Slott the cheapest AI receptionist?+

It's the cheapest way we know of to start: $19/mo includes voice AI and AI text handling that actually book appointments — a category that usually costs several times that. First week free.

Pricing & fees

One flat price. No processing fees. No surprises.

Do you charge per-booking or processing fees?+

Never. Your subscription is your only cost — whether you book 10 clients or 1,000. Other platforms charge 2-5% per transaction, which adds up to $150+/mo for a busy stylist. We think you shouldn't be penalized for being busy.

Does Slott include a point-of-sale?+

No — by design. Slott was built for independent owners and small shops, and we didn't like how other platforms take a percentage of every payment; for a busy chair that's thousands of dollars a year. Instead, Slott sends an intelligent payment reminder from the seat toward the end of the service, with your own payment handles — Venmo, Zelle, cash, whatever you use — and the tip can be included in that same transaction. You get paid directly. We never touch your money or take a cut.

What do the plans cost?+

Starter is $19/mo, Standard is $49/mo, and Pro is $99/mo. Every plan includes the AI receptionist and starts with a free first week. Slott for Business (teams) is custom — contact the team.

How does the free week work?+

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial — full access from day one, cancel anytime before day 7 and pay nothing. One free trial per customer.

Can I switch plans anytime?+

Absolutely. Upgrade or downgrade whenever you want. No long-term contracts, no cancellation fees.

What if I have multiple staff members?+

Check out Slott for Business — you get everything in Pro plus team scheduling, front desk management, waitlist, and priority support. Contact our team at contact@slott.ai for pricing tailored to your business.

Booking & no-shows

How clients get on your calendar — and how Slott keeps them showing up.

How do clients book with Slott?+

Three ways: they text your number and the AI books them, they call and the AI answers, or they use your booking page — share it anywhere. Everything lands on one calendar.

How does Slott help with no-shows?+

Automatic confirmations and text reminders (Standard and up), upfront deposits to protect your time (Standard and up), and on Pro, auto-filled cancellations — when someone cancels, the AI rebooks the slot.

Can I take deposits?+

Yes — collect a deposit upfront when the appointment is booked (Standard and up), so your time is protected before the client ever sits down.

Can clients cancel or reschedule themselves?+

Yes — every booking comes with a link where clients confirm, cancel, or reschedule without texting you.

What if I already have regulars who just text me?+

That's the point: they keep texting the same way, and the AI does the back-and-forth of finding a time. You stay in control of your calendar.

The AI receptionist

What the AI actually does when your phone rings and your hands are full.

What does the AI receptionist actually do?+

It answers your business number when you can't — texts and calls. It checks your real availability, books the appointment, sends the confirmation, and hands you the ones that need a human. Every plan includes it; the plans differ in how much it handles each month (Starter: 100 texts + 20 voice minutes, Standard: 750 + 150, Pro: 2,500 + 300).

Does it answer after hours?+

Yes. It answers your business number whenever you can't — whether you're mid-cut or the shop is closed for the day.

What happens when a client needs a human?+

The AI hands you the conversations that need you. On Pro, escalation alerts make sure nothing that needs a real person slips through.

Do my clients need to download an app?+

No. Clients text or call your business number like always, or use your booking page from any browser. Confirming, cancelling, and rescheduling all happen over text and simple links.
